2008 Family Week
Join us for a full week of family fun! You decide the type of instruction: kayak or tandem canoe. Instruction from 9 a.m. to 12 noon with a break for lunch, followed by three hours on the water in the afternoon from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Once you're off the water, the evening is up to you - videos in the Boathouse, songs by the campfire - a relaxing evening for all after a fun day on the water! Our instructors will customize the course according to skill level. Ages 6+. What better way to spend the week before your kids go back to school?
Dates for 2008: August 25 to 29
Cost: $225 per child and $350 per adult + $5 membership + GST.
Custom Family Courses
Our family courses are designed to engage and challenge families of all ages and sizes. Our instructors will work with you to meet your goals and keep the course fun and safe for the whole family. Whether you are at the beginner or intermediate level - we can design a course just for you. Choose from kayaking, canoeing or river safety and rescue courses. Adults can paddle with children, or kids are welcome to join our KidActive! program (ages 6+) while adults paddle in a course of their own.
Cost: $75 per child per day and $95 per adult per day
KidActive
Our KidActive program is another affordable alternative. This kayaking program for kids runs every week from the beginning of July until the end of August.
Cost: $55 per child per day
Daycare
Daycare services are also available for younger children who are too young or uninterested in joining in the fun on the water.
Cost: $35 per child per day
Camping
Camping is available for $20/night. Camping at our site works on a first-come, first-served basis and is available to all members throughout the season (May through October). No formal booking is required. The only weekend we are booked up is during Palmer Festival (May long weekend). You are more than welcome to pitch a tent anywhere on our two acres of land.
While camping, you have access to running water and sinks behind the office and outhouses behind the Boathouse, and join other campers at the campfire down by the beach. In case of an emergency, such as a thunderstorm, our Boathouse is available for immediate shelter from the storm. All camping gear and food are up to you for the duration of the course. Now that's a real, relaxing, camping experience!
