This is the perfect introduction to whitewater kayaking. By the end of this course you will be paddling and grinning your way down class two rapids with confidence and skill.
We follow logical progressions that keep you challenged and learning quickly. This is a solid introduction to whitewater kayaking and the foundation for a whole new dimension of fun. Many members do an intro course early season to give themselves the rest of the summer to practice or join our many river trips. But it's never too late to get started!
Locations: We run most of our intro clinics at Palmer Rapids on the Madawaska River. The water is warm and clean and the variety of rapids are appropriate for developing new skills. This program is based from the Paddler Co-op Boathouse—our site is located on the shores of the Madawaska River, just a short paddle to the rapids.
Dates for 2014: These courses run every weekend from May to October. To sign up, please see our calendar.
Weekday programs are booked upon demand. Gather your friends and organise your own whitewater intro or book into a scheduled clinic. We need only three people to book a custom course.
Course cost: 2 day course (3+ people): $280.00 + Membership ($5.00) + HST. Equipment and boats are provided in addition to an excellent instructor.
