RESOURCES

Transitional Canoe—Tandem or Solo

Throughout this course, we will focus on fine-tuning your strokes and perfecting your whitewater moves. With these practised skills in your toolbox, you will find yourself negotiating more challenging rapids with composure and grace. Whether your goal is to become self-sufficient and capable of running multi-day northern trips or you would simply like to brush up on your skills in order to enjoy many of our local rivers, this course will get you there.
Our intermediate programs are available to both solo and tandem boaters. If you are a tandem boater without a partner, no worries, you can paddle with another course participant or with the instructor.
Great paddling comes with practise. If you would like to get out and paddle on a regular basis, consider our river trips and explore Ontario's rivers.

Date(s) & Time:
Sat, 06/23/2012 - 08:00 - Sun, 06/24/2012 - 17:00
Duration:
2 days
Location:

River trips are chosen according to flow rates and technical difficulty and will vary month to month. From gently flowing rivers to big volume stuff, we organise trips for all adventure appetites. Weekday programs are booked upon demand. Gather your friends and organise your own whitewater intro or book into a scheduled clinic. We need only three people to book a custom course.

Cost:

2 day course- $280.00 + Membership $5.00 + HST. Equipment and boats are provided in addition to an excellent instructor. Course costs are reduced if you own your own boat and gear.
Many members do an intro course early season to give themselves the rest of the summer to practice or join our many river trips. But its never too late to get started. Many members prefer a combination course—a day of skills refinement and a day running a river. Watch the schedule for postings or call us.
If you are interested in achieving your ORCKA Level II, let us know when you book the course. All of our instructors are ORCKA Moving Water Instructors and are able to assess for these levels.
