Junior Leadership Program (13-18)

The Junior Leadership Program is designed for energetic teens who want to paddle! Scheduled for the summer break, this five day program encompasses whitewater kayaking, basic river rescue skills and a two day whitewater paddling trip. The program is fully supervised by program leaders and/or other parents. Evening activities may include first-aid workshops or co-operative learning activities. Cooking and all other camp chores are shared, as are stories of the day's adventures.

Paddler Co-op's Junior Leadership Program (JLP) has developed into an effective and integral part of our KidActive Paddling Camp. We have worked with many incredible young people - developing their leadership skills, building on their integral sense of responsibility, both on and off the water. We provide them with opportunities to grow into competent paddlers, instructors and program co-ordinators. As role models to other young participants, they are invaluable to our organizations.

Each junior leader has contributed their innovative ideas and individual personalities to the development of KidActive and our community paddling evenings. Their energy and motivation helps to shape programs and infuse momentum into each day on and off the water.

Course cost: $425.00 meal plan excluded or $500.00 meal plan included + $5 membership + HST
